Luma Compositor Research

LumaTouch wanted to create a third application to bolster its business viability in addition to LumaFusion and LumaFX (no longer available on the App Store).

Under direction from the lead product designer and engineer, I created a research plan to study the viability of the new application.

This involved outlining a research plan for the Luma Compositor which included conducting peer review research and planning for usability tests with experts in the field of composting.

The research started with a round of stakeholder interviews with key stakeholders at the company to set the initial agreement and direction of the project. This information later informed how I outlined the scope for the build of the prototype and served as a guidepost as development progressed with early-stage development.

Following the stakeholder interviews I planned and hosted half a dozen different usability tests with participants to uncover usability issues with the early prototype. Ultimately through our research and feedback from users, LumaTouch decided not to build the product because it was beyond the internal knowledge the company held in-house.
